One of the largest producers of processed foods in the US had a large sweet potato facility with an existing under performing wastewater treatment system. The existing system consisted of screening prior to biological treatment with a lagoon. To improve results, an FRC DAF system was installed to prevent biological treatment upsets when high Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) went to the lagoon.
Fruit & Vegetable Application: System Solution
FRC engineered a solution for one of the leading suppliers of fries to international fast-food chains. The wastewater coming from the existing treatment system at one of their potato processing plants was producing high levels of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Fats Oils and Grease (FOG) that needed to be brought down to below the required permit level. FRC provided a system design that could handle the planned expansion while also recovering resalable product. Two additional internally fed rotary drum screens were added to allow for increased flow rates and future expansion.
