Pharmaceutical Application: System Solution

This global healthcare company made one of the biggest investments in North Carolina history by building a modern new facility to produce medicines for diabetes.  The wastewater is first treated by a biological system for the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus. The resulting biosolids are sent to reactor tanks for chemical dosing and preconditioning of the influent wastewater.  This process results in the formation of biosolids that are thickened by the DAF units.

FRC Solution

  • Reactor Tanks – Chemicals (Ferric, Lime, and Polymer) dosed to agglomerate the solids
  • Open-Style DAF – Float the biosolids, thereby increasing the dry solids content of the sludge
