- Health & Beauty - Skidded Solution - FRC Project Profile
One of North America’s leading consumer products manufacturers of branded and private label household, pool, and auto care products needed an emergency wastewater treatment solution. All Projects FRC Systems » Projects Health & Beauty Skidded Solution General Manufacturing Previous Project Next Project FRC Components Flocculator, Open-Style DAF, Sludge Dewatering Project Description One of North America’s leading consumer products manufacturers of branded and private label household, pool, and auto care products needed an emergency wastewater treatment solution. Because of our sizable rental fleet, FRC was able to respond quickly with a rental DAF and belt press rated for the full capacity. The systems were used as a proof of concept to confirm adequate removal of Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) and determine cost savings on sludge dewatering. Each of the DAF, Belt Press, Flocculator, and Chemical Dosing are completely pre-piped and pre-wired on stainless steel 304 skids. The FRC design also provided additional extra cost savings by using the DAF effluent water as the wash water for the belt press. Due to excellent performance during the pilot trial, both systems were purchased as a permanent solution. The FRC Solution Flocculator Skid – Chemicals dosed to precipitate the solids, includes pH transmitter Chemical Dosing Skid – Includes all chemical dosing pumps (coagulant, acid, caustic, polymer) and an E-Panel that interacts with the DAF Main E-Panel via an ethernet cable. Open-Style DAF Skid – Floats the agglomerated solids, yielding clean effluent water. The resulting effluent was used as the wash water for the Belt Press. An E-Panel (includeing PLC & HMI), duty/standby recycle pumps, and AOD sludge pump were pre-installed on this skid. Belt Filter Press Skid – Increase dry solids content of the DAF sludge, reducing hauling costs. The sludge feed pump, polymer dosing system, wash water pump and bag filter, and E-Panel (includes PLC & HMI) to control the belt press system. A large poultry, kill, processing, and rendering plant was generating 1.4 MGD of wastewater and needed to meet direct discharge requirements for Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG), and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD). All Projects FRC Systems » Projects Poultry Turnkey Solution Meat & Seafood Processing Previous Project Next Project FRC Components Flocculator, High-Rate DAF, Biological Treatment, Equalization Project Description A large poultry, kill, processing, and rendering plant was generating 1.4 MGD of wastewater and needed to meet direct discharge requirements for Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG), and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD). FRC designed a pretreatment solution using two DAFs in a duty/assist configuration for peak flowrates, followed by a secondary DAF for biological treatment. The pretreatment DAF units recover proteins that the customer sells to local renderers to generate additional income of over two million dollars per year. The FRC Solution Headworks – Proper screening was done in the plant prior to Wastewater Treatment Plant Equalization – Homogenize wastewater for consistent wastewater characteristics. All Projects FRC Systems » Projects Convenience & Prepared Foods Turnkey Solution Food & Beverage Previous Project Next Project FRC Components Screen, Flocculator, High-Rate DAF, Biological Treatment, Equalization Project Description FRC designed and supplied a full turnkey mechanical and electrical installation solution for this greenfield bakery manufacturer of rebranded muffins and gourmet iced cakes. The facility had to reduce the high levels of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) in their wastewater to be able to discharge to a local water source. FRC provided a complete solution to meet their compliance requirements. The FRC Solution Rotary Drum Screen – Remove coarse solids such as small pieces of muffins and cakes, as well as any floating hairnets and other “garbage”. Equalization – Homogenize wastewater for consistent wastewater characteristics. Aeration mixing is provided to prevent anoxic conditions and formation of ammonia. - Phosphorus Removal - System Solution - FRC Project Profile
The municipality of Woodruff was looking for a biomass separation solution to handle summer algae blooms in their lagoon as well as to reduce the overall Total Phosphorus (TP). All Projects FRC Systems » Projects Algae & Phosphorus Removal System Solution Municipal Wastewater Previous Project Next Project FRC Components High-Rate DAF, Reactor Tanks Project Description The municipality of Woodruff was looking for a biomass separation solution to handle summer algae blooms in their lagoon as well as to reduce the overall Total Phosphorus (TP). A DAF was demonstrated to be highly effective in removing the algae and TP during trials. Two parallel DAF units were installed with Continuous Stirred Tank Reactors (CSTR) for chemical dosing to accommodate the wide-ranging daily flow. FRC chose a high rate DAF model with a low hydraulic surface loading rate (<1 gpm/ft2) as the approach to remove algae and TP. The FRC DAF floats the algae easily and it is skimmed off the top with our rotating top skimmer system. This design allows the TP entrained in the algae to be efficiently removed at the same time. All Projects FRC Systems » Projects Wood System Solution General Manufacturing Previous Project Next Project FRC Components Screen, Reactor Tanks, Sludge Dewatering, High-Rate DAF Project Description FRC designed a wastewater treatment system for a large, Swiss-based wood manufacturer. The production of fiberboard was generating wastewater with extremely high Total Suspended Solids (TSS) that needed to be reduced to meet city discharge limits. The design used an Inclined Plate Separator (IPS) to remove high density suspended solids from the wastewater via gravity. The resulting effluent was sent back to the chip washer for water re-use. The concentrated wastewater from the inclined plate separator was sent to DAF for final separation, where the DAF sludge is dewatered for maximum cost efficiency.
